Gauhati University or also known as GU is the oldest university in North-East India located in Jalukbari, Gauhati, The University is accredited grade ‘A’ by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council. Gauhati University has 42 post-graduate departments and a constituent college for Engineering and law. More than 350 colleges are affiliated with GU. The National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF) ranked Gauhati University 88th in the University Category in 2023.
