Established in 1964, Pt. Ravishankar Shukla University (PRSU) is Chhattisgarh's largest and oldest institution of higher education. PRSU is accredited by the NAAC with a ‘B++’ grade and ranked 151-200 by NIRF 2023 among the top universities in India. The university has a huge campus of 300.16 acres in the western part of the capital of Chhattisgarh, Raipur. PRSU has a total enrollment of over 5000 students and 100 faculty members. With 29 departments and 156 affiliated colleges, PRSU offers UG, PG, PG Diploma, Diploma, Doctoral, and Post Doctoral programs. Admissions at PRSU are done based on scores obtained in the entrance examination.
